Washington State Secretary of State Elections, the Public Disclosure Commission, and Walla Walla County Elections provide excellent guidance and resources on how to file for office and any follow-on actions. See Important Links below.
In the first full week of May, the Walla Walla County Auditor’s Office accepts filings for all countywide and local offices. Online filing opens at 8 a.m. on that Monday and closes at 5 p.m. on Friday. Races that have more than two contestants will have a run-off in the August Primary. Those that have 2 or fewer candidates running will proceed to the General Election.
